Another book that I read this week was Self-esteem. It is a CBT programme for improving your self-esteem. Really well written and helpful. I found out about some new assertiveness techniques, about the importance of setting goals and reaching them, self-awareness, noticing thoughts as they arise, core beliefs and how to change them, how to deal with criticism and how to raise children with high self-esteem. I must admit I was completely absorbed during the reading of this book, that's how much the topic interested me. However, I did not agree with the sections on suspending judgement and not labelling people and events as good or bad. It just seemed the author was going for a lack of discernment. And what was the difference between judgements and actual character traits? All in all four stars on Goodreads and some additional knowledge about self-esteem acquired.
