Another book that I read this week was Transcend. A thoroughly researched work on the topic of self-actualization. Coupled with some sort of biography of Abraham Maslow it is meant to expand our knowledge on the highest of human needs. Interesting, of course, but I kept thinking whether in Romania such a need has been met. We seem to struggle with getting our basic needs met, let alone developing ourselves and having so-called peak experiences. Also, I don't see a lot of transcenders hanging around in the cut-throat society of today. One more thing: is it possible for a person to jump straight to the top of the pyramid of needs without having the others met? Maslow argued that it wasn't. I'm thinking it is. I found out some things about myself, some things about the others, some things about the world. All in all, three stars on Goodreads.
