Take 70

Another book that I read this week was Personality Plus. It is a book about the four temperaments, their characteristics and ways in which everyone of us can work on our strengths. I took the simple test from the book and as it turned out my temperament was Melancholic when it came to strengths and Melancholic-Phlegmatic when it came to weaknesses. Apparently melancholics are creative, organized, analytical, the so-called Thinkers. They also have genius intellect and can easily slip into a bad mood. They are perfectionists and have high standards for people. To tell you the truth after reading the book I came to the conclusion that I had a little bit of every temperament. I am inclined to have fun just like a Sanguine, I am impatient just like a Choleric, I like to rest just like a Phlegmatic and I am easily hurt just like a Melancholic. What I found interesting is that some of us put on the mask of a different temperament just to survive. From what I recall from childhood I was quite bossy with my desk mate which means I could have been a Choleric child putting on the mask of a Melancholic after some sort of trauma. Or maybe I think to much. A thing that bothered me about the book was that its author was a Christian speaker and had to place some quotes from the Bible in her work. A little dramatic for my taste. The psychological observations were pertinent nonetheless. All in all, three stars on Goodreads.
