Take 53

This week's book is Idiot Brain. It's meant to be a sidekick to The Happy Brain. A modern day course on neuroscience and everything you wanted to know about the brain. Motivation, stress, mental disorders, humour, heartbreak, memory, groupthink: it's all here. Very interesting to read. Woah. Such a vast array of facts I felt sorry I gave it only three stars on Goodreads, but the thing was that it contained popular knowledge on the brain, pieces of information that could easily be obtained from surfing the Web. I really liked this book as I liked the one about the happy brain. It is written in everyday language and it can make you catch the neuroscience bug. I thought about the amount of work needed to bring such a work to the general public and I remained in awe of the author. Highly recommended if you're a beginner when it comes to neuroscience. You find out about the anatomy of the brain with its different areas working together just like in a thrilling symphony. Highly entertaining, written in a witty, informative voice and you don't get bored while reading it.
