Another book that I read this week was Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life. It is a book about the so-called ACT therapy that proposes embracing pain as a natural human process. Around 200 pages on how we avoid pain only to make it worse, some mindfulness exercises, some exercises on cognitive defusion and acceptance and on how to live a value-based life. Interesting at times, stuffy at times. Required some willpower on my part to finish and I somehow couldn't agree with the author's arguments. Maybe more research should be done on the topic. I doubt this sort of therapy would prove useful. All in all three stars on Goodreads for the novelty of the topic.
